Do you want to combine the strengths of a shared team identity with the benefits of shared leadership? Then our all-in 5RS program is your best choice.
Learn more about the benefits of shared leadership.
In this program, we guide sport teams to implement an effective structure of shared leadership. First, we rely on the obtained insights of our Shared Leadership Mapping to appoint the right athlete leaders on each role. Next, we further develop their leadership potential throughout this program. By giving your athlete leaders the chance to voice their ideas, to come up with new objectives and implement them in practice, you give them the opportunity to further develop their leadership potential. In this way, you can optimally harness the leadership talent in your sport team, of course always guided by you as coach.
During the first workshop, we elaborate on the importance of shared leadership and the leadership roles that players can occupy. We also clarify the outline of the Shared Leadership Mapping and the further process.
This first session is followed by the online assessment of our Shared Leadership Mapping in which we map the leadership structure within the team. The resulting insights provide an important stepping-stone to identifying and appointing the best leaders in the team on task, motivational, social, and external leadership. By implementing a structure of shared leadership, the leadership talents in your team can be harnessed to the full.
Next, we go a step further by developing the leadership potential of the appointed athlete leaders. The team is guided throughout 4 workshops, in which the appointed athlete leaders receive specific responsibilities so that they learn hands-on how to fulfil their leadership role well.
Throughout this program, the appointed athlete leaders learn how they can further strengthen this shared sense of 'we' and 'us'. This not only causes them to become perceived as better leaders themselves, but also constitutes an important lever to maximise their impact on the team functioning and their teammates' well-being.
This shared sense of 'we' and 'us' is improved throughout 5 different phases: Readying, Reflecting, Representing, Realising, and Reporting. Each of these phases is focused on one central question, that we are happy to present in the following summarising figure of our 5RS Program.
The program constitutes of 5 workshops in which the coach and/or sport psychologist participates together with the team. After the first workshop, an online assessment follows for our Shared Leadership Mapping. The results are discussed with the coach or sport psychologist. Based on these insights, the coach or sport psychologist decides who to appoint as athlete leaders on each of the four roles. These athlete leaders will guide their team throughout the following 4 workshops, thereby learning hands-on how they can strengthen the shared identity within their team.
